FiveHaystacks is a 60 acre parcel of land in Campbellville, Ontario, composed of rolling hills, natural wetlands, woods, all the above and more. It is also a working farm, with a number of agripreneurs coming together to work the land and put a new spin on what farming and sustainable land use are all about.
In one corner of the farm there is a meditation garden, at the other end a bee yard, and down the hill and in between there are hay fields, flower beds, and natural habitat for snapping turtles, frogs, birds, bats and a host of other animals. And there are lots of places to sit and think, watch the pollinators dip into the flowers and the snapping turtles race for the pond.
We believe that work and play can go together, that nature can be used without being abused or used up; that farms can be beautiful, that they can have room for art and whimsy and spending time meditating on a bench in the middle of a field.
