MORE THAN A FARM
At FiveHaystacks Farm natural and cultivated environments are not mutually exclusive. both can teach us how to live more productive, more grounded lives. The farm integrates outdoor art, natural areas, a bee yard, and several microfarming projects.

this year on the farm

In 2022, with the world in upheaval in so many different ways, we are focused on the basics: assisting young changemakers intent on reinventing small-scale farming. The concept of "field to table" takes on new meaning when the chef who prepares your meal knows everything about the ingredients, because he happens to have grown them himself, or when the condiments you buy are made with a vegetable the producer has lovingly brought to ripeness and harvested. Find out more about the people who inspire us with their dedication, hard work, and agripreneurial creativity.

We also continue to harvest hay to support the rescue horses at HIllesum Farm. Hay is cut after mid-July in order to protect grassland birds such as bobolink and eastern meadowlark nesting in the fields.

PRETTY IN PICTURES

Sometimes it is not nature groomed and manicured that works best in photographs. Here are some images from a bridal photoshoot (Perfect Impressions Photography) that were featured in the 2020 Bridal Guide and some more spontaneous images of life at the Farm.

FiveHaystacks Farm: The Elements

THE LAND

FiveHaystacks is located on a beautiful 60-acre property that combines rolling hills, woods, and protected wetlands.

THE FLORA

The natural and the cultivated, and everything in between. Respect for wild plants; delight in adding special touches.

THE FAUNA

Deer, coyotes, raccoons, rabbits, all manner of birds, bats, frogs, and more call FiveHaystacks home.

THE PROJECT

We want to reinvent the concept of the farm, make a place for people to use and enjoy in different ways.
